As I said in my last post, it has been so fun for me during this off-season to go through old galleries and see how far my art has grown as a photographer. But, even more than that, it has been so fun for me to go through my hard drives and re-edit photos. This sweet gallery was definitely one of them. I got to second shoot this dream day with my sweet friend, Jessi at Jessi Varner Photo.
I’ve gone back and forth on debating editing these photos again for so long and the timing just never felt right and about a week ago it finally did.
The Rehearsal:
Angie + Ryan are New Yorkers who moved down to Charleston, SC to chase their dream of owning a brewing company. EPIC – am i right?! My friend, Jessi invited me to capture their sweet micro-wedding at the Bay in John’s Island, SC – just across the way from Charleston where they reside. They were instantly the sweetest, most caring couple and welcomed me with open arms as I helped Jessi capture their rehearsal dinner and epic marquee photos that Ryan surprised Angie with that night. These are some of my favorites! This was so authentically them and such a big, sweet gesture and i ate up every moment of it! It’s so important to make sure that planning a wedding or elopement involves things that you and your partner LOVE or that is unique to you.
The Wedding Day:
The next day, Jessi and I woke up early, got ready and headed down to the Battery and Rainbow Row which are a couple of Charleston’s most famous and most beautiful spots. We shot headshots of each other, grabbed some starbucks and made our way to John’s Island where the getting ready spot was. Once we arrived, we quickly grabbed all the details shots before Ryan arrived for his first look with Angie.
I have to say that the treehouse Angie got ready in was so epic! I absolutely loved it. After Angie + Ryan’s first look, we all headed to The Island House, their wedding venue to get ready for their wedding ceremony. They had some seriously cool elements that made their day even more special including their ceremony spot that was located directly under a moss tree and a vintage volkswagen bus/flower truck. They even had a miniature version for their son apollo! The freaking cutest thing ever. These are some of my favorite moments.
Every single details brings me back to all of the anticipation leading up to these two saying “I do” and it was truly so unforgettable.
This sweet Charleston bayside wedding was one for the ages! These are by far some of my most favorite photos I’ve ever taken because I simply am transported back to the time that I got to be a part of the moments that they captured. From Angie’s breathtaking details, to her first look with Ryan and their son Apollo, to their intimate ceremony, and gorgeous reception – this day was absolutely perfect and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of it.
