Love in the Sunshine State: Enchanting Destin, Florida Destination Wedding Portraits

Those of you who know me, know that i’ve had the travel bug for years and photography has become such an epic way to live out my dreams of traveling all over while simultaneously capturing the art of human connection. The gulf of Florida is another one of my dream places that I absolutely have longed to shoot for so long and I finally got the chance to back in April of 2022 for Anastasia + Tanner’s wedding. I have been looking back on some of my old galleries and it is so fun and geuniely insane to see how much I’ve evolved as an artist in such a short amount of time.

A + T are a sweet couple from Inman, SC. This is about 30 minutes from my homebase. A worked with my hairdresser at the time and was recommended to come my way for her wedding photography needs. I will forever be thankful that she did because how pivotal it was for my business but also because of ho much I still love them to this day. They are truly some of the best people I know. How did we end up in Destin, Florida you might ask? Well, A + T frequently vacation in Fort Walton Beach, FL. It is their place that makes them feel most in love and at home so they decided to host their closest friends and family at the WaterVue at Brooks Street to celebrate their union. I was easily down for the journey as soon as i realized they had big, adventuring hearts just like me. Apart from that, they are so easy to be around and are truly so so sweet. One thing about me is i freaking loveeee to travel and that is another reason why this yes was so easy and is a big reason why I made the switch from large weddings to traveling elopements. A + T’s wedding is one that changed my business as a whole just because it was the first time I truly allowed myself to stray from the normal wedding photos and try my hand at a few storytelling shots. It was then that I fell in love! I am so thankful that I got to love on them in such a special season.
